The hotel is in an excellent location but the interior is getting a bit tired and could do with a revamp. Rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable, and food and all-inclusive drinks choices are adequate. The heavy glass sliding wardrobe doors required the muscles of Hulk Hogan to open, but once the reception was notified of this, a tecnico came quickly to the room and spent some time efficiently fixing the sliders and they could be moved much easier! The entertainment staff work very hard to put on evening shows when professionals aren't booked. But what annoyed us the most was the constant and daily repetitive music emanating from a mobile speaker unit placed on the stage at the Bar Tropic/main pool outside area, set at a rather unnecessarily loud volume, disturbing the ambience continuously through the day, with no consideration at all for a quiet 'siesta' period during the afternoon. Checkout was absolutely horrid and tarnished the entire week we'd enjoyed upto this point. We approached the reception desk at 09:35, where two young male receptionists were on duty; one of them CHECKING IN a customer (At 09:35???) and the other receptionist was doing nothing but dither about pretending to be busy doing other things but not serving any customers!!! All we wanted to do was return the drinks fichas and reclaim the €2 and then leave. 09:35 is the time for people CHECKING OUT and not CHECKING IN!!! As we waited for 15 minutes for the early morning CHECK-IN to be processed, standing beside this customer, not once did the receptionist look in our direction or acknowledge our presence, and a queue had formed during this time, behind the customer being checked in and not behind us. Once the 09:35 check-in was completed, only then did the receptionist 'suddenly notice' our presence and told us to join the back of the queue!!!! This was an absolutely absurd way to treat any guest who simply wanted their €2 back, and go. A simpler return scheme should be put in place for these fichas, both at the bars and at the reception desk. In the huge and resounding atrium space and 'Agua' bar area, there's another mobile speaker unit placed on the stage by the entertainment staff, also constantly and unnecessarily playing daily repetitive music. After only one day of our 7-day stay, this began to grind on my nerves! We would like to return to this hotel at some point, but not if we're going to be subjected to the same set of songs over and over again, or with no quiet periods!!
